We are delighted to invite you to our 2021 Member Options digital conference - lessons learnt to improve members’ experiences.
The conference will link three distinct areas with the common theme – what have recent experiences taught us to improve things for pension schemes and their members in future? This includes learning from the experiences of pensioners who have retired in the post freedom world, the GMP conversion and PIE ‘early movers’ and the developments in the DB world to improve outcomes for DC members.
The conference will be delivered through 3 distinct 45 minute sessions that give insights and focus around key member options considerations:
|
|
Research: Getting the member experience right
Our guest speaker, Maggie Williams a freelance writer who specialises in pensions, investments and employee benefits, has supported us with research conducting in-depth interviews with retirees since 2015 - discussing the options they took and what, if any, key changes they would make to their retirement experience if they had the chance. We will also share insights on the latest trend of options that schemes are either currently offering or considering for their members, discussing best practice and lessons learnt from our members’ experiences research.

|
GMP conversion with PIE: what have the early movers taught us?
Around
half the pension schemes in the market are choosing to equalise GMPs via the conversion method, with many combining this with a Pension Increase Exchange (‘PIE’) exercise. Aon experts will look at the lessons learnt from the early movers as the first schemes launch this initiative, sharing insights on potential pitfalls and how to implement this option efficiently with minimal risks and maximum benefits to you and your members.

DB and DC retirement journey - getting it right
Great progress has been made in the pensions industry over recent years to improve the retirement experience for DB members – but does this mean DC member support has fallen behind? This session focusses on best practice for both DB and DC retirement support, including a client case study and views from Linklaters on how trustees can stay on the right side of the latest FCA guidance.
We
very much hope that you can join us for this informative and topical morning, additionally, if you have a colleague who you think would like to attend, please feel free to share this invitation.
Finally, if you would like to attend but are unable to make the date, please RSVP to let us know, as this will ensure that you receive a link to the event recordings.
Kind regards,
Kelly Hurren | Partner & Head of Member Options Aon
