Mind the Responsible Investment Gap!
Bridging Trustee & Member Needs for Better Engagement

Aon's Responsible Investment Network Meeting

21 November 2019 – The Aon Centre, 122 Leadenhall Street, London EC3V 4AN
5.30pm – 7.30pm, followed by a networking reception.

Next year will bring a renewed focus on the role of trustees as good stewards of assets, with greater transparency demanded through the next round of SIP changes and an updated UK Stewardship Code, setting the framework for best practice and expectations on asset ownership.

Many trustees ask us whether what they do on engagement will make a difference. In our next meeting, we will discuss the expectations, benefits and challenges of good stewardship, looking at how pension schemes can punch above their weight by driving change in companies and across the investment industry, and how those activities can help drive engagement with the members they represent.

I'm delighted that we will be joined by:

  1. David Styles and Claudia Chapman of the Financial Reporting Council to support the discussion around expectations on stewardship following the recent launch of the UK Stewardship Code 2020.
  2. Adam Matthews, Director of Ethics & Engagement at The Church of England Pensions Board who will share insights on what stewardship can mean in practice and what can be achieved.

Your participation is keenly anticipated to ensure we have a robust and helpful discussion for all.
