The dilemma to engage with fossil fuel producers or to divest from them is prominent in many investors' minds – public campaigns and a focus on the different actions investors are taking are adding complexity to decision-making on this issue.

In our next meeting of Aon's Responsible Investment Network, we will aim to address this challenge. We will debate the motion Engaging with fossil fuel producers will lead to better outcomes than divesting, drawing on a wide range of perspectives and experiences – from investors, fund managers and industry participants – to bring clarity to both sides of the argument and to help investors to solve this dilemma.

The session will include time for in-depth Q&A and will be held under the Chatham House Rule to support free and open discussion.
